In recent days, at the production workshop of Tecox Technology Group Lishui Fluid Equipment Co., Ltd., technicians have been closely monitoring the valve sealing performance test bench. On the bench, an 18-inch large-diameter wear-resistant valve—used in polysilicon purification equipment—stands quietly. This is the company’s flagship product, first introduced to the Southeast Asian market, with a single unit valued at over 2 million yuan.
The successful mass production of this high-end valve vividly epitomizes the evolution of Liandu’s precision ball valve industry from individual breakthroughs to cluster emergence. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Liandu abandoned the “going it alone” development model, leveraging the “small product” of precision ball valves as a fulcrum to drive the construction of an industrial ecosystem. This approach has “strung scattered enterprises like pearls into a chain”, forging a distinctive path of high-quality industrial development in southwestern Zhejiang.
“Lishui boasts a complete valve industry chain and an excellent business environment. Our company’s average annual output growth rate over the past three years has reached 20%,” stated Chen Changqing, General Manager of Tecox Technology Group Lishui Fluid Equipment Co., Ltd. In 2021, Tecox relocated from Tianjin to Liandu and quickly reaped the benefits of the “cluster effect”—complete supporting enterprises in the vicinity eliminated the need for long-distance procurement of raw materials and processing of components, significantly enhancing production efficiency. What further reassured the company was Liandu Economic Development Zone’s full lifecycle services, streamlining approval processes, connecting financial resources, and building talent bridges, allowing enterprises to focus on development with minimal burdens.
Relying on the core platform of Liandu Economic Development Zone, Liandu has focused its efforts precisely on the precision ball valve industry: in project attraction, it prioritizes absorbing upstream and downstream supporting enterprises to refine the industry chain; in factor support, it allocates resources such as land and energy to major projects; in innovation-driven development, it promotes cooperation between enterprises and research institutes, and build platforms for technological breakthroughs; in enterprise cultivation, it builds a gradient cultivation system to help small and medium-sized enterprises grow into specialized, sophisticated, and innovative benchmarks.
Today, the Tecox High-End Valve Innovation Industrial Base, with a total investment of 600 million yuan, is under accelerated construction. In the future, it will comprise five functional zones, including smart factories and an industrial brain. Led by Tecox, over a hundred valve enterprises in Liandu have joined forces to develop, forming a complete industry chain from raw material supply to finished product testing. In recent years, the output value of Liandu’s precision ball valve industry cluster has exceeded 6.8 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 18% over the past three years, successfully earning a place on the provincial list of specialized and characteristic clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Municipal Economic Work Conference emphasized the need to highlight industry chain investment attraction and vigorously promote the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation. In response, the principal officials of Liandu Economic Development Zone stated that moving forward, they will focus on strengthening enterprises and invigorating chains, advancing the construction of two pillar industries, fully leveraging “chain-leading” enterprises such as Nice and Mingye, accelerating the clustering of six major industries in the beauty and health sector, and striving to build a comprehensive beauty and health industrial ecosystem. They will vigorously support the transformation of the intelligent valve industry toward high-end, green, and intelligent development, aiming to establish Liandu as a high-end valve agglomeration hub in southwestern Zhejiang. Simultaneously, they will strengthen enterprise cultivation by earnestly implementing the “Thriving Growth 310 Plan” for key industrial enterprises, employing a combination of measures to strengthen leading enterprises, bolster mid-sized ones, and consolidate foundations, improving the closed-loop “Enterprise Calls, We Respond” problem-solving mechanism. These efforts will help enterprises focus on their work and develop with confidence, with the goal of adding 35 new enterprises above designated size and five enterprises with annual output exceeding 100 million yuan this year.
